Lee "Archie" Edgar Schlefke, age 73 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Hillside Manor from complications of a stroke.

Lee was born on April 25, 1939 in Beaver Dam to Edgar "Lefty" and Linda (nee Bonack) Schlefke. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1957. Lee worked for many years in the sheet metal industry and most recently at Sure Fire in Horicon. On July 8, 1961 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Peggy" Ricklefs at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Lee loved golfing, bowling, playing cards, gardening, baseball and being with his ever-expanding family and generally spending time with friends and neighbors.

Lee is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" of Beaver Dam, his five children; Denise (Gordon) Priewe, Dawn Cundy, Doug (Michelle) Schlefke, Donna Schlefke all of Beaver Dam, David (Robin) Schlefke of Deerfield, his grandchildren; Stephanie (Jay) Zamzow of Berlin, Nichole Brown and Chelsea Priewe of Beaver Dam, Sklyer and Logan Schlefke of Deerfield, Katelyn Schlefke of Beaver Dam, Cara Canfield of Wisconsin Dells, Vincent Nance of Waterloo, Leanne Nance of Milwaukee, great-grandchildren; Taylor, Aaron, Nataliee, Lucas, Jeremy and Nevaeh; three sisters, Lila (Richard) Feggestad of Sun Prairie, Lois (Jerry Bell) Kruel of Beaver Dam, Lonie Schlefke of Fox Lake, his step-mother-in-law, Mary Ricklefs of Wauwatosa and a sister-in-law Polly Branfort of Cudahy. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Peg Ricklefs and a brother-in-law John Branfort.

A gathering celebrating the life of Lee will be on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd in Beaver Dam.
