Paul J. Haider

Paul J. Haider, age 87 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Paul Joseph Haider was born on June 22, 1924 in Beaver Dam, WI to Carl J. and Josephina (nee Beers) Haider. He attended St. Peter's Catholic School and St. Francis Minor Seminary, graduating in 1942. Paul began working fulltime on September 15, 1942 at Sears in Beaver Dam, managing the sporting goods, paint, automotive, plumbing and appliances departments. He also served as the store's Assistant Manager before retiring in 1974.

Paul served as President of the Holy Name Society at St. Peter's Catholic Church, past Grand Night of the Beaver Dam Knights of Columbus and was a past member of Beaver Dam Lions Club. He was also an Administrator for the City of Beaver Dam Community Development and Block Grant for Housing Improvement. Paul later worked as a Sales Representative for Red Oak Concepts in Red Oak, Iowa.

Paul is survived by his two sisters, Sister M. Aimee Haider of St. Francis, WI and Bernice (Edgar) McCollum of Greendale, WI He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carl (Lucie) Haider, and his sisters, Aurelia (Fred) Badke, Marie Haider and Thecla Haider.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam with Father Mike Erwin as celebrant. Visitation will take place at church prior to the mass, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam, at a later date. A luncheon will take place immediately following the Mass at Cornerstone Funeral Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam.
