Mary E Sheppard

Mary E. Sheppard, age 60, of Burnett, WI passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her home. She was born March 22, 1951 in Moberly, MO to the late John and Ruth Van de Kamp. She was raised and grew up in Sedalia, MO. Mary attended Sacred Heart High School and went on to graduate from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1972. She worked in nursing for many years in hospitals and Homecare, but truly loved Home Hospice, where her expertise was recognized by families and medical professionals. Mary's bright and caring personality shone most when she was helping others.

Mary married Tom Sheppard on December 28, 1974. She was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She particularly enjoyed baking cookies for the annual Christmas bake sale, and embroidering Christmas Stockings for the church fundraiser. For several years, she also headed up the youth program at the church, inspiring young adults to live with Christ's love.

In her free time, Mary particularly enjoyed her cat, Misha, reading, travel and time with her family. She was an animal lover and an avid supporter of the Humane Society. She was an award-winning singer and enjoyed all types of music.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Sheppard. She is also survived by her only daughter, Kristin (Michael) Keen of Reedsburg, WI; her brother, John (Kitty) Van de Kamp of Annapolis, MD; and their children: Emily (Pete) Gwynne of CT, David (Meredith) Van de Kamp and their son Samuel of Annapolis, MD.

ALL SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE.

Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam is honored to be serving the family.
