Mary Ellen Stange, age 75 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Friday, September 2, 2011.

Mary Ellen was born on October 6, 1935, in Beaver Dam to William and Elsie (nee Ladwig) Keel. She was the Homecoming Queen at Juneau High School, where she graduated in 1953. On September 17, 1955, she was united in marriage to Clarence Stange at Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam. Mary Ellen did all of the bookkeeping for the family business, Stange Sales and Services, and also enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her wonderful home-cooked meals and baked goods will never be forgotten. She enjoyed traveling, camping with her family,bowling with her daughter, Laura and spending time with family at Brent and Cheri's cabin in Phillips,WI. Mary Ellen was a member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam. Mary Ellen will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Clarence E. Stange of Beaver Dam; her children, Brent (Cheri) Stange, Rebecca (Michael) Wissell, and Rachel (Joseph) Meier, all of Beaver Dam; her son-in-law, Jeff Beyer of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Ryan (Judy) Kline, Cory Moldscheck, Adam Beyer, Madelyn (Mark) Buchda and Molly Wissell; her great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandon Kline; her brother, William Keel of Beaver Dam; her sister, Mildred Bunkoske of Horicon; her sister-in-law, Geraldine Keel of Beaver Dam and her brother-in-law, Fred (Fran) Yuenger of Beaver Dam. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lee Beyer, in 2003; her parents; her father and mother-in-law; her brother, Edwin Keel; her sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Kienow, Lois (Earl) Petry, Elaine (John) Schmid and Ruth Yuenger; two sisters in infancy, Janet and Shirley; and her brother-in-law, Harry Bunkoske.

A Funeral Service for Mary Ellen will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church – United Methodist, 308 Oneida Street in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Eileen Kuehnl officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam and on Wednesday prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Leipsig Cemetery, in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County.
